Medal of the Order of Australia for Swiss

Silvia Hochuli from Vic has received the order for service to the Swiss Community of Victoria on Australia Day 2016. 

 

The Order of Australia is an order of chivalry established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, to recognise Australian citizens and other persons for achievement or meritorious service.  Silvia Hochuli received the Medal of the order of Australia for service to the Swiss Community of Victoria.  

 

"For the last fifty years Sylvia Hochuli has been a valued and beloved member of the Swiss community in Melbourne. For her commitment as a carer for the senior members, as the president of the Swiss Folk Dance Group Alpenrose and president of the Australian/Swiss Cultural Society she has received the Medal of the Order of Australia."
